At its core, the 5449G features a dual ceramic ball bearing centre housing, providing exceptional spool, reduced friction, and enhanced durability under high boost. The turbo utilises a 9-blade G-Aero billet compressor wheel with Extended Tapered Tip Technology to improve airflow and maintain rapid response. Matching this is a 9-blade G-Aero Inconel 713C turbine wheel, designed to withstand extreme exhaust temperatures found in tuned EA888 applications.
The ported-shroud compressor cover helps prevent surge and stabilises airflow at varying boost levels, while the integrated speed sensor port gives tuners the ability to safely monitor shaft speed.
