What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo conrods SCR9714?

The Carrillo conrods SCR9714 may require honing of the big-end and small-end bores to ensure proper fitment with the crankshaft and pistons. It's essential to check for correct clearances and tolerances as per your engine specifications.

What is the recommended application for the SCR9714 conrods?

The SCR9714 conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the VW TSI 2.0L engine. They are suitable for both street and racing use, providing a strong and reliable option for builds aiming for increased power levels.

What is the weight of the SCR9714 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR9714 conrod is approximately 564 grams, with a rotating weight of 389 grams and a reciprocating weight of 175 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and responsiveness of the engine.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR9714 conrods?

When installing the SCR9714 conrods, ensure that the big-end caps are properly aligned and torqued to the manufacturer's specifications. It's also crucial to verify that the rod bolts are lubricated with the included moly-based lubricant for accurate torque readings.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR9714 conrods?

The SCR9714 conrods come with custom-designed ARP 3/8 bolts. These bolts are engineered for high strength and reliability, making them suitable for performance applications. Always follow ARP's latest instructions for installation.
