What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What is the material used for the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods?
The Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods are made from high tensile 4340 forged steel, providing excellent strength and durability for high-performance applications.
What are the specific sizes for the small end and big end of these conrods?
The small end pin size for the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods is 22mm, while the big end tunnel size is 55mm. Ensure your engine components are compatible with these dimensions.
Do I need to perform any machining on the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods?
While the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods are designed for a precise fit, it is advisable to check for any necessary honing of the big-end or small-end to accommodate factory variations in journal and pin sizes.
Are bearings included with the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods?
No, the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods do not include bearings. You will need to source compatible bearings separately for your build.
What kind of testing do the Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods undergo?
The Spool 1JZ-GTE conrods are rigorously tested, including X-RAY and sonic testing, quenching and heat treatment, shot peening, and 100% Magnafluxing to ensure reliability and performance under high-stress conditions.
