Do I still need machining with a full engine kit?
Yes. The block must be honed and all clearances checked and set by your builder. Assembly should only occur after full measurement and verification.
What are the recommended piston clearances for the CP forged pistons in the 3RZ rebuild kit?
Piston clearances should be set according to the specific application and intended use. Typically, a clearance of 0.0020" to 0.0025" is suitable for forged pistons. However, always consult with your engine builder for the best fit based on your setup and tolerances.
What is the process for installing the Spool H Beam conrods with ARP2000 bolts?
When installing the Spool H Beam conrods, use ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant and torque the ARP2000 bolts to approximately 55 ft-lb for 3/8" bolts. Ensure that the conrod big-end is honed to the correct size for your crankshaft journals to achieve proper clearance.
Can I use a different compression ratio for the CP pistons in this kit?
Yes, the CP pistons can be customised to any compression ratio and bore size. If you require a different specification, please contact us for pricing and availability.
What type of oil should I use during the break-in period for the rebuilt 3RZ engine?
We recommend using Joe Gibbs Break-in Oil for all new engines. This oil is formulated to provide the necessary protection and lubrication during the critical break-in period.
