What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What machining is required for the Spool Suzuki G16A/G16B conrods?
The Spool Suzuki G16A/G16B conrods may require big-end or small-end honing to achieve the correct fitment due to variations in journal and pin sizes. It's essential to check clearances with your specific components for optimal performance.
What is the weight tolerance for the Spool G16A/G16B conrods?
The Spool G16A/G16B conrods are weight matched sets with a tolerance of ±1 gram. This ensures consistency across the conrods, which is crucial for maintaining balance in high-performance applications.
Are bearings included with the Spool Suzuki G16A/G16B conrods?
No, the Spool Suzuki G16A/G16B conrods do not include bearings. You will need to source compatible bearings separately to complete your assembly.
What materials are used in the construction of the Spool G16A/G16B conrods?
The Spool G16A/G16B conrods are made from high tensile 4340 forged steel, which provides excellent strength and durability for high-performance applications.
How are the Spool Suzuki G16A/G16B conrods tested for quality?
The Spool Suzuki G16A/G16B conrods undergo thorough X-RAY and sonic testing, are 100% Magnafluxed to ensure integrity, and are shot peened to improve fatigue strength, ensuring they meet high-performance standards.
