What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What is the weight of the Spool RB30 Drag Pro conrods?
The Spool RB30 Drag Pro conrods weigh 665 grams each, including the bolts.
Are any modifications required for fitment of these conrods?
No machining is required for the Spool RB30 Drag Pro conrods. They are designed to be a direct fit for RB30 NA, RB30 Turbo, and RB30 engines with RB25 or RB26 heads.
What materials are the Spool RB30 Drag Pro conrods made from?
These conrods are made from high tensile 4340 forged steel, featuring a two-piece forging design for increased strength and durability.
What is the benefit of the dowelled caps on these conrods?
The dowelled caps provide precision alignment, ensuring consistent performance and reliability under high-stress conditions.
Can I upgrade the bolts on these conrods?
Yes, an upgrade to ARP L19 bolts is available for those seeking additional strength and performance.
