NEW! - Just released
These head stud kits feature premium grade ARP CA625 material that is rated at 260-280 000 psi tensile strength.
These are a direct replacement for the OEM head bolts. No drilling and tapping of the cylinder block required.
This kit includes a set of fourteen ARPCA625+® M12 head studs that replace the original head bolts, fourteen parallel ground washers, fourteen chrome moly steel 12 point nuts and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
The pro series kits are also available with 12-point nut, and all kits come complete with hardened parallel washers for an even load distribution and accurate torque readings.
Custom Age 625 Plus®: This newly formulated super-alloy demonstrates superior fatigue cycle life, tensile strength and toughness with complete resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidation. ARP is the first to develop manufacturing and testing processes for fasteners with Custom Age 625+. Best of all it is less expensive and expected to soon replace MP-35 as the material of choice in the high strength, super-alloy field. Typical tensile strength is 260,000-280,000 psi.

What is the difference between ARP2000, L19 and CA625+?
ARP2000 suits most high-performance builds. L19 offers higher strength but is sensitive to handling and corrosion. CA625+ is used for extreme cylinder pressure or rpm.
Why is ARP lubricant important?
ARP torque values assume Ultra-Torque lubricant on threads and under the head. Without it, clamp load becomes unpredictable.
What are the benefits of using ARP CA625+ head studs in a Barra XR6 engine?
ARP CA625+ head studs provide superior tensile strength rated at 260,000-280,000 psi, which enhances the clamping force on the cylinder head. This is crucial for high-performance applications where increased boost levels and cylinder pressures are common. The material also offers excellent resistance to fatigue and corrosion, making it ideal for both street and race use.
Do I need to modify my engine to install the ARP CA625+ head studs?
No modifications are necessary when installing the ARP CA625+ head studs in a Barra XR6 engine. These studs are designed as a direct replacement for the OEM head bolts, allowing for straightforward installation without the need for drilling or tapping the cylinder block.
What is the recommended torque specification for the ARP CA625+ head studs?
For the ARP CA625+ head studs, it is recommended to follow ARP's latest instructions for torque specifications. Typically, you will use the ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant provided in the kit to ensure accurate torque readings and even load distribution across the cylinder head.
How do the parallel ground washers included in the kit improve performance?
The parallel ground washers included with the ARP CA625+ head studs help to distribute the load evenly across the cylinder head. This prevents localized stress and ensures accurate torque readings, which is essential for maintaining head gasket integrity under high-performance conditions.
Can I reuse the ARP CA625+ head studs after removing them?
ARP recommends against reusing head studs after they have been torqued and removed, especially in high-stress applications. The material may experience fatigue, and reusing them could compromise the clamping force necessary for a reliable seal. It's best to use new studs for optimal performance.
