What is the difference between ARP2000, L19 and CA625+?
ARP2000 suits most high-performance builds. L19 offers higher strength but is sensitive to handling and corrosion. CA625+ is used for extreme cylinder pressure or rpm.
Why is ARP lubricant important?
ARP torque values assume Ultra-Torque lubricant on threads and under the head. Without it, clamp load becomes unpredictable.
What is the tensile strength of the ARP 2000 head studs for the Barra XR6?
The ARP 2000 head studs for the Barra XR6 are rated at 220,000 psi tensile strength, which provides enhanced durability compared to the previous 8740 material head bolts.
Do I need to modify my engine block to install these head studs?
No, these ARP 2000 head studs are a direct replacement for the OEM head bolts, meaning no drilling or tapping of the cylinder block is required for installation.
What components are included in the ARP 2000 head stud kit for the Barra XR6?
The kit includes fourteen ARP2000 M12 head studs, fourteen parallel ground washers, fourteen chrome moly steel 12-point nuts, and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
How should I torque the ARP 2000 head studs during installation?
Follow ARP's latest instructions for torque specifications. Proper torque is crucial for ensuring even load distribution and preventing head gasket failure.
Are these head studs compatible with aftermarket cylinder heads?
While these head studs are designed as a direct replacement for OEM head bolts, compatibility with aftermarket cylinder heads may vary. Always verify fitment based on the specific head design and manufacturer recommendations.
