What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specifications of the Carrillo conrods for the Mitsubishi 4G63?

The Carrillo conrods for the Mitsubishi 4G63 feature a centre-to-centre length of 5.906 inches (150 mm), a big end bore of 1.8897 inches (48 mm), and a pin bore of 22 mm. They are designed with a big end width of 1.038 inches (26.37 mm) and are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings for enhanced strength and durability.

What machining considerations should I keep in mind when installing these conrods?

When installing the Carrillo conrods, it's essential to check the big-end and small-end clearances. Depending on your specific engine setup, you may need to hone the big-end to achieve the correct fitment. Always ensure that the conrods are properly aligned and that the crankshaft is balanced with the full rotating assembly.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods for the 4G63?

The total weight of each Carrillo conrod for the 4G63 is approximately 567 grams, with a rotating weight of 396 grams and a reciprocating weight of 171 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.

Are these conrods suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, the Carrillo conrods are designed for high-performance applications, including racing. Their H beam design and proprietary materials provide a high strength-to-weight ratio, making them suitable for extreme use. However, reliability will depend on proper machining, clearances, and tuning.

What is the expected delivery time for these conrods?

These conrods are special order items. If not in stock at CP Carrillo, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. You will be notified of the estimated time of arrival if there are any delays.
