What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What is the recommended machining for the Carrillo conrods SCR5451?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5451 may require honing of the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct fitment due to factory variations in journal and pin sizes. Always verify clearances with your specific engine setup.

What are the specific dimensions of the SCR5451 conrods?

The SCR5451 conrods have a centre-to-centre length of 6.496 inches (165 mm), a big end bore of 2.3229 inches (59 mm), and a pin width of 0.896 inches (22.76 mm). Ensure these dimensions match your engine requirements before installation.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR5451 conrods?

The SCR5451 conrods come standard with 3/8 inch Carrillo bolts. These bolts are designed for high-performance applications and should be torqued according to ARP specifications for optimal reliability.

Can I use the SCR5451 conrods in a standard VR38DETT engine?

Yes, the SCR5451 conrods are designed specifically for the Nissan VR38DETT engine. However, ensure that your engine is properly built and tuned to handle the performance capabilities of these conrods.

What is the weight of the SCR5451 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR5451 conrod is approximately 604 grams, with a rotating weight of 416 grams and a reciprocating weight of 188 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance characteristics of your engine.
