What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR5450 conrods?
The SCR5450 conrods may require honing of the big-end and small-end to achieve the correct clearances due to variations in factory journal and pin sizes. It's essential to measure and confirm these dimensions during installation.
What is the recommended application for the SCR5450 conrods?
The SCR5450 conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the Nissan VR38DETT engine, making them suitable for racing and modified builds where strength and reliability are critical. Ensure proper tuning and fuel quality for optimal performance.
What is the weight of the SCR5450 conrods?
The total weight of each SCR5450 conrod is approximately 600 grams, with a rotating weight of 411 grams and a reciprocating weight of 189 grams. This weight distribution contributes to the overall performance and balance of the engine.
What is the significance of the PRO-H design in the SCR5450 conrods?
The PRO-H design of the SCR5450 conrods offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for extreme performance applications. This design is specifically engineered to handle the stresses of high RPM and increased power levels typical in racing environments.
How long does it take to receive the SCR5450 conrods if they are not in stock?
If the SCR5450 conrods are not in stock at CP Carrillo, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. We will provide an estimated time of arrival once the order is placed.
