What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR8946 conrods?

The SCR8946 conrods may require honing of the big-end bore to ensure proper fitment with the crankshaft journals. It's essential to check the dimensions and clearances during assembly to achieve optimal performance.

What is the recommended application for the SCR8946 conrods?

The SCR8946 conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the Porsche 997 Cup engine. They are suitable for racing and other extreme use cases where strength and reliability are critical.

What is the weight of the SCR8946 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR8946 conrod is approximately 518 grams, with a rotating weight of 356 grams and a reciprocating weight of 162 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of the engine.

How do I ensure proper installation of the SCR8946 conrods?

Ensure that you follow the manufacturer's specifications for installation, including verifying the correct clearances and using the appropriate fasteners. It's also advisable to perform a thorough inspection of the conrods before installation to check for any defects.

What is the centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR8946 conrods?

The centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR8946 conrods is 5.118 inches (130 mm). This measurement is critical for compatibility with the Porsche 997 Cup engine.
