What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specifications of the Carrillo conrods for the Porsche 9A1 engine?

The Carrillo conrods for the Porsche 9A1 engine are designed for the 3.4L, 3.6L, and 3.8L Non-Turbo models. They feature a centre-to-centre length of 5.512 inches (140 mm), a big end bore of 2.2047 inches (56 mm), and a pin width of 0.818 inches (20.78 mm). The rods are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings, ensuring high strength and durability.

Do I need to perform any machining on the Carrillo conrods for my Porsche 9A1 engine?

While the Carrillo conrods are precision manufactured, it is common to require honing of the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct clearances for your specific engine. Always check the fitment with your crankshaft and pistons to ensure optimal performance.

What is the weight of each Carrillo conrod for the Porsche 9A1 engine?

Each Carrillo conrod for the Porsche 9A1 engine weighs a total of 551 grams, with a rotating weight of 386 grams and a reciprocating weight of 165 grams. This weight distribution contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo conrods?

The Carrillo conrods for the Porsche 9A1 engine come with custom-designed CARR 3/8 inch bolts. These bolts are engineered for high strength and reliability, ensuring the conrods perform well under demanding conditions.
