What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR4259 conrods?

The SCR4259 conrods may require honing of the big-end and small-end to achieve the correct fitment due to manufacturing tolerances. Always check the journal and pin sizes against your crankshaft and pistons to ensure proper clearances.

What is the recommended application for the Carrillo SCR4259 conrods?

These conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the Mitsubishi 4G63 engine, particularly in racing or modified street setups. They provide a strong and lightweight option for builds aiming for increased power and reliability.

What is the weight of the SCR4259 conrods?

The total weight of the SCR4259 conrods is 531 grams, with a rotating weight of 368 grams and a reciprocating weight of 163 grams. This weight distribution helps in optimising engine performance.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR4259 conrods?

When installing the SCR4259 conrods, ensure that the conrod bolts are torqued to the appropriate specifications using ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant. Additionally, verify that the conrod is properly aligned with the crankshaft and piston to prevent any binding during operation.

What type of fasteners are used with the SCR4259 conrods?

The SCR4259 conrods come with 3/8-inch ARP2000 bolts as standard. For enhanced performance, consider upgrading to L19 or CA625+ bolts, but ensure to follow the specific torque or stretch specifications provided by ARP for those fasteners.
