What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR6843 conrods?

The SCR6843 conrods may require honing of the big-end and small-end to ensure proper fitment due to variations in journal and pin sizes. Always verify clearances with your engine builder to achieve optimal performance.

What is the weight of the SCR6843 conrods and how does it affect performance?

The SCR6843 conrods have a total weight of 439 grams. A lighter conrod can improve engine response and reduce rotating mass, but ensure that the overall rotating assembly is balanced for reliability.

Can I use the SCR6843 conrods in a turbocharged application?

While the SCR6843 conrods are designed for the non-turbo 996/997 engines, they can be used in turbo applications if properly evaluated for strength and clearances. Consult with your engine builder for specific modifications and tuning considerations.

What is the recommended installation process for the SCR6843 conrods?

When installing the SCR6843 conrods, ensure that the big-end caps are properly aligned and torqued to the specified values. Follow ARP's latest instructions for bolt tightening to ensure reliability under load.

What are the benefits of using Carrillo conrods like the SCR6843?

Carrillo conrods, including the SCR6843, are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings, offering a high strength-to-weight ratio and durability. They are designed for extreme use in racing, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.
