What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific applications for the SCR5951 conrods?

The SCR5951 conrods are designed for use in the Porsche 986, 987, and 996 non-turbo engines, specifically for the 2.5L, 2.7L, 3.2L, and 3.4L engine variants.

What is the recommended machining process for the SCR5951 conrods?

These conrods may require honing of the big-end and small-end to achieve the correct clearances, depending on the specific engine and its condition. Always consult with your engine builder for precise machining requirements.

What is the weight of the SCR5951 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR5951 conrod is approximately 567 grams, with a rotating weight of 407 grams and a reciprocating weight of 160 grams.

What is the pin width and big end width of the SCR5951 conrods?

The SCR5951 conrods have a pin width of 0.818 inches (20.777 mm) and a big end width of 0.794 inches (20.168 mm).

Are these conrods suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, the SCR5951 conrods are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings and are designed for high-strength and durability, making them suitable for performance and racing applications when properly installed and tuned.
