What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo conrods SCR5469 for the Porsche 993/996 Turbo?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5469 may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to variations in factory journal sizes. It's essential to check the clearances with the crankshaft to achieve optimal performance.

What is the recommended application for the SCR5469 conrods?

These conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the Porsche 993 and 996 Turbo engines. They are suitable for both street and racing use, provided that the engine is built and tuned correctly to handle the increased power levels.

What is the weight of the SCR5469 conrods, and how does it affect performance?

The total weight of the SCR5469 conrods is 540 grams, with a rotating weight of 379 grams and a reciprocating weight of 161 grams. The lightweight design contributes to reduced inertia, allowing for quicker engine response and higher RPM capabilities.

What is the significance of the Pro-H design in the SCR5469 conrods?

The Pro-H design of the SCR5469 conrods provides a high strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for applications that demand both durability and performance. This design helps to withstand the stresses of high boost and RPMs commonly found in modified Porsche engines.

Can I use the SCR5469 conrods with aftermarket pistons?

Yes, the SCR5469 conrods can be used with aftermarket pistons, but it's crucial to ensure that the piston and conrod combination maintains the correct compression ratio and clearances. Always consult with your engine builder to confirm compatibility.
