What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specifications of the Carrillo conrods for the 2.0L FSI engine?

The Carrillo conrods for the 2.0L FSI engine (SKU: SCR6099) have a centre-to-centre length of 144mm (5.67 inches), a big end bore of 50.617mm (1.9928 inches), and a pin width of 21.89mm (0.862 inches). They feature a big end width of 24.92mm (0.981 inches) and are designed with a 3/8 inch bolt size.

What is the recommended machining for these conrods?

While the Carrillo conrods are precision manufactured, it is advisable to check the big-end and small-end clearances to ensure proper fitment. Depending on your specific engine and build, you may need to hone the big-end or small-end for optimal clearance.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo conrods?

The Carrillo conrods (SKU: SCR6099) come standard with WMC 3/8 inch bolts. These bolts are designed for high-performance applications and should be torqued according to ARP specifications for optimal reliability.

Are these conrods suitable for racing applications?
