What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo conrods SCR5534?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5534 for the VW 2.0L ABA may require honing of the big-end and small-end to ensure proper fitment due to potential variances in journal and pin sizes. Always check clearances with your specific components.

What is the recommended application for the SCR5534 conrods?

The SCR5534 conrods are designed for high-performance applications, including racing and modified street engines. They provide a strong and lightweight option suitable for builds that may experience increased RPM and power levels.

What is the weight of the SCR5534 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR5534 conrod is approximately 585 grams, with a rotating weight of 408 grams and a reciprocating weight of 177 grams. This weight contributes to improved engine response and performance.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR5534 conrods?

When installing the SCR5534 conrods, ensure that the main caps and girdles are properly aligned and that the conrods are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications. It is advisable to check the alignment and clearances after installation.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR5534 conrods?

The SCR5534 conrods come with custom-designed Carrillo fasteners, which are known for their strength and reliability. Ensure to follow the recommended installation procedures for these fasteners to achieve optimal performance.
