Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrods for the Yamaha YZF-R6?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrods may require honing of the big-end bore to ensure proper fitment on the crankshaft journals. It's crucial to check the clearances and ensure they meet the specifications for your specific engine setup.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 225 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for quicker revs and improved throttle response, which can enhance overall engine performance, especially at high RPM.

Can the Carrillo PRO-H conrods be used in applications beyond the Yamaha YZF-R6?

While the Carrillo PRO-H conrods are specifically designed for the Yamaha YZF-R6 '01-05 and FZ600 R6 '04, they may be adaptable for other builds with similar specifications. However, it's essential to verify compatibility with your specific engine configuration.

What is the material used in the Carrillo PRO-H conrods, and how does it contribute to their performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrods are made from 4330M steel, which provides a high strength-to-weight ratio. This material choice enhances durability and resistance to fatigue, making them suitable for high-performance applications.

What is the recommended installation process for the Carrillo PRO-H conrods?

During installation, ensure that the conrods are properly aligned and that the bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications. It's advisable to use ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant for accurate torque readings and to follow ARP's latest instructions for bolt tightening.
