Part Description |
Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; |
Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure. CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What are the benefits of using the Carrillo PRO-A conrod for the Kawasaki KFX450?
The Carrillo PRO-A conrod is manufactured from high-quality 8620 steel, providing superior strength and durability compared to OEM rods. Its lightweight design reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for higher RPMs and improved horsepower output. This conrod is specifically designed for extreme use in racing applications, ensuring reliability under high-stress conditions.
What machining considerations should I keep in mind when installing the Carrillo PRO-A conrod?
When installing the Carrillo PRO-A conrod, it's essential to check the big-end bore for proper fitment. Due to manufacturing tolerances, you may need to hone the big end to ensure a precise fit on the crankshaft journal. Always verify clearances and ensure the conrod is aligned correctly during installation.
Is the Carrillo PRO-A conrod compatible with other aftermarket components?
The Carrillo PRO-A conrod is designed to fit the Kawasaki KFX450 '07-'08. While it can be compatible with other aftermarket components, it's crucial to verify that the pin diameter and rod length match your specific setup. Always consult with your engine builder to ensure compatibility with your chosen pistons and crankshaft.
What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-A conrod?
For installation, ensure the conrod is properly oriented and that the big end is securely fastened to the crankshaft. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for torque specifications, and consider using ARP fasteners if applicable. It's advisable to check all clearances and perform a final inspection before starting the engine.
