Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the key features of the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod for the Yamaha YXZ1000R?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrod for the Yamaha YXZ1000R is manufactured from USA-made oversized proprietary 4330M steel forgings, ensuring optimal grain flow and strength. It features an 8mm CARR bolt design, a big end bore of 41mm, and a rod centre-to-centre length of 118.5mm, making it suitable for high-performance applications.

What machining considerations should I keep in mind when installing these conrods?

When installing the Carrillo PRO-H Conrods, you should check the big-end bore for proper sizing and hone if necessary due to manufacturing tolerances. Ensure that the conrods fit correctly with the crankshaft and piston assembly, and confirm that all clearances are within the specifications required for your engine setup.

How do the weight and design of these conrods affect engine performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrods are designed to be lighter than OEM rods, which reduces the overall rotating mass in the engine. This weight reduction allows for quicker revs and can lead to increased horsepower output, particularly in high RPM applications, while maintaining strength and durability.

What is the expected lifespan of these conrods under racing conditions?

While the Carrillo PRO-H Conrods are built for durability and strength, their lifespan under racing conditions will depend on factors such as tuning, RPM, and overall engine setup. Proper installation, machining, and maintenance are crucial to maximise their performance and longevity.

Are these conrods suitable for boosted applications?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H Conrods are suitable for boosted applications, provided that the engine is properly tuned and the boost levels are within safe limits. Ensure that all components, including pistons and crankshafts, are compatible with the intended power levels to maintain reliability.
