Part Description |
Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included. |
Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure. CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod for the Polaris XP1000 Turbo?
The Carrillo PRO-H conrod may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to manufacturing tolerances. It's crucial to check the big-end bore against your crankshaft journal size and make any necessary adjustments for optimal clearance.
What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?
When installing the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, ensure that the rod bolts are torqued to the appropriate specifications using ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant. For the 0.375 CARR bolts, aim for around 55 ft-lb. Always verify that the conrod is properly aligned and that the big-end is free of any debris before assembly.
Can I use the Carrillo PRO-H conrod with stock components in the Polaris XP1000 Turbo?
While the Carrillo PRO-H conrod is designed for high-performance applications, it can be used with stock components. However, ensure that all parts are compatible and that the engine is properly tuned to handle the increased strength and potential power output of the conrod.
What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, and how does it affect performance?
The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 565 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, which can improve engine response and allow for higher RPMs. This can lead to better overall performance, but it's essential to ensure that the rest of the engine components are also suited for high RPM operation.
What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, and how do they contribute to performance?
The Carrillo PRO-H conrod comes with 0.375 CARR bolts, which are designed for high strength and reliability. These fasteners help maintain the integrity of the conrod under high-stress conditions, making them suitable for racing and performance applications where durability is critical.
