Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the benefits of using the Carrillo PRO-A conrod for the Kawasaki KX450F?

The Carrillo PRO-A conrod is manufactured from high-quality 8620 steel, providing superior strength and durability compared to OEM rods. Its lightweight design reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for better engine response and potentially increased horsepower output at high RPMs.

Is any machining required for the Carrillo PRO-A conrod installation?

While the Carrillo PRO-A conrod is designed for a direct fit, it is advisable to check the big-end and small-end clearances. Depending on your specific engine and its condition, you may need to hone the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct fit.

What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-A conrod?

Ensure that the conrod is properly aligned with the crankshaft and piston. Follow the manufacturer's specifications for clearances and tolerances. It's crucial to use the correct lubricants during installation and to check for any potential binding or misalignment.

How does the design of the Carrillo PRO-A conrod affect performance in racing applications?

The Carrillo PRO-A conrod features a unique H-beam design that enhances strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for high-performance and racing applications. Its ability to withstand higher RPMs and loads reduces the risk of fatigue failure, which is critical in competitive environments.

What is the typical lead time for delivery of the Carrillo PRO-A conrod?

Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of the Carrillo PRO-A conrod. If the delivery time extends beyond this, we will contact you. It's advisable to confirm the delivery timeframe before placing your order.
