Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the key features of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod for Honda CRF250R and CRF250X?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is manufactured from USA-made oversized proprietary steel forgings, ensuring optimal grain flow and the removal of surface inclusions. It features a lightweight design that enhances performance by reducing the mass the engine must manage at high RPM, contributing to increased horsepower output.

What machining considerations should I keep in mind when installing this conrod?

When installing the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod, it's essential to check the big-end and small-end for proper sizing. Due to manufacturing tolerances, honing may be required to achieve the correct fit for the crankshaft and piston pin. Always ensure that the conrod is properly aligned and that clearances are set according to your engine's specifications.

Is the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod suitable for racing applications?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is designed for extreme use in racing environments. Its high strength-to-weight ratio and robust construction make it suitable for competitive applications, provided that the engine is properly built and tuned to handle the increased performance.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod, and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod weighs 183 grams. A lighter conrod reduces the overall rotating mass, which can lead to quicker revs and improved throttle response. This is particularly beneficial in high-performance applications where engine responsiveness is critical.

What is the expected lead time for delivery of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod?

Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod. If there are any delays beyond this timeframe, we will contact you. It's advisable to confirm delivery times before placing an order.
