Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What is the specific application for the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod PSR7901?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrod PSR7901 is designed specifically for the Polaris XP1000 Razor and XP900 engines, featuring a rod length of 4.921 inches, which is 3.5mm shorter than the standard length.

What material is the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod made from?

The PSR7901 conrod is manufactured from 4330M steel, which provides enhanced strength and durability, making it suitable for high-performance applications.

What are the recommended machining considerations for the PSR7901 conrod?

When installing the PSR7901 conrod, it is essential to check the big-end bore for proper clearance and ensure that the small-end may require honing to fit the piston pin correctly. Always verify clearances based on your specific engine build.

What are the benefits of using the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod in high-performance applications?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrod offers a higher strength-to-weight ratio compared to OEM rods, which reduces overall engine weight and allows for better RPM response. This can lead to improved horsepower output when paired with proper tuning and setup.

How does the use of CARR bolts affect the installation of the PSR7901 conrod?

The PSR7901 conrod uses 8mm CARR bolts, which provide increased strength and reliability. Ensure that you follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation and torque specifications to maintain the integrity of the conrod under high-stress conditions.
