Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod for the Suzuki GSXR1000?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod may require honing of the big-end or small-end to ensure proper fitment, as factory journal and pin sizes can vary. It's crucial to check clearances and ensure they meet the specifications of your engine build.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 286 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, which can improve engine response and allow for higher RPMs, contributing to better overall performance.

Can I use the Carrillo PRO-H conrod with a 6mm stroker setup?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H conrod is specifically designed to clear a 6mm stroker setup for the Suzuki GSXR1000 from 2005 to 2008. Ensure that your engine is properly assembled and tuned to take advantage of the increased stroke.

What material is the Carrillo PRO-H conrod made from and why is it significant?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod is made from 4330M steel, which offers a high strength-to-weight ratio and improved durability compared to OEM rods. This material choice is critical for high-performance applications where reliability under stress is essential.

What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?

When installing the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, ensure that the big-end and small-end are properly aligned and torqued according to the specifications for the 8mm CARR bolts. Always follow ARP's latest instructions for bolt tightening to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
