Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod for the Triumph 675?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod may require honing of the big-end bore to ensure a proper fit with the crankshaft journal. It's essential to check the alignment and clearances, as variations can occur in production. Always consult with a qualified engine builder for precise machining needs.

What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?

When installing the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, ensure that the big-end bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications. For the 8mm CARR bolts, follow the latest ARP guidelines for torque settings. It's also crucial to check for proper clearance and alignment during installation.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 268 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for quicker engine response and higher RPM capabilities. However, the overall performance gain will depend on the entire engine setup, including tuning and component compatibility.

Can I use the Carrillo PRO-H conrod with other aftermarket components?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H conrod is designed to work with various aftermarket components, but compatibility should be verified. Ensure that the pin diameter and big-end dimensions match your pistons and crankshaft. Always consult with your engine builder to confirm fitment.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod comes with 8mm CARR bolts, which are designed for high strength and durability. These fasteners are specifically engineered for performance applications, providing reliable clamping force under high-stress conditions.
