Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the recommended machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrods for Ducati 1198 and 1098R?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrods may require honing of the big-end or small-end to ensure proper fitment, as OEM journal and pin sizes can vary. It's essential to check clearances and ensure they meet the specifications for your specific engine build.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 429 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for quicker revs and improved throttle response, which can enhance overall performance, especially in high RPM applications.

What material is used in the construction of the Carrillo PRO-H conrods?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrods are manufactured from 4330M steel, known for its strength and durability. This material choice contributes to the conrod's ability to withstand high stress and fatigue, making it suitable for performance applications.

Can I use the Carrillo PRO-H conrods with aftermarket pistons?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H conrods can be used with aftermarket pistons, but it's crucial to ensure that the piston and conrod combination maintains the correct clearance and geometry for your engine setup. Always consult with your engine builder for specific recommendations.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo PRO-H conrods?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrods come with 9mm CARR bolts, which are designed for high performance. Ensure to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation and torque specifications to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
