Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod for Yamaha V-Max and XVZ13 Venture?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod may require honing of the big-end bore to ensure proper fitment with the crankshaft journal. It's essential to verify the clearances and ensure they meet the specifications for your particular engine build.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 360 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, which can improve engine response and allow for higher RPMs. However, ensure that your engine is properly balanced to take advantage of this weight reduction.

Can I use the Carrillo PRO-H conrod with aftermarket pistons?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H conrod can be used with aftermarket pistons, but it's crucial to check the compatibility regarding pin diameter and overall engine assembly. Proper bore clearance and ring gap settings must also be established by the engine builder.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo PRO-H conrod and what are their benefits?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod comes with 8mm CARR bolts. These fasteners are designed for high strength and reliability, providing better performance under extreme conditions compared to standard OEM bolts.

What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?

When installing the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, ensure that the big-end is properly aligned with the crankshaft journal. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for bolt torque or stretch specifications, and always check for proper clearance and fitment before final assembly.
