Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod for Yamaha TT500/XT500?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to variations in journal sizes. Always check the clearances and ensure the conrod is fitted correctly to the crankshaft.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs approximately 436 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for quicker engine response and potentially higher RPM capabilities, which can enhance overall performance.

Is the Carrillo PRO-H conrod suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H conrod is designed for high-performance applications, providing a strong and lightweight option for the Yamaha TT500/XT500. However, ensure proper installation and tuning to maximise reliability and performance.

What material is the Carrillo PRO-H conrod made from and how does it contribute to its performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod is made from 4330M steel, which offers excellent strength and durability. This material choice helps to withstand the stresses of high RPM and power outputs, making it suitable for racing and off-road applications.

What is the significance of the conrod being 3.5mm shorter for the Yamaha TT500/XT500?

The 3.5mm shorter length of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod allows for a 7mm stroker setup, which can increase the engine's displacement and torque. This modification can enhance performance, but it requires careful consideration of the engine's overall design and tuning.
