Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specifications of the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod for the Harley Davidson V Rod?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrod for the Harley Davidson V Rod features a big end bore of 2.032 inches (51.613 mm), a rod centre to centre length of 5.709 inches (145 mm), and a pin diameter of 0.866 inches. It is constructed from 4330M steel and weighs 542 grams.

Is any machining required for the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod installation?

While the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod is designed for a direct fit, it's important to check the big-end and small-end clearances. Depending on your specific engine and its condition, honing may be required to ensure proper fitment.

What are the benefits of using the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod in my Harley Davidson V Rod?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrod offers a higher strength-to-weight ratio compared to OEM rods, which can enhance performance by reducing reciprocating mass. This results in improved throttle response and potential horsepower gains, especially at high RPM.

How should I maintain the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod for optimal performance?

Regularly inspect the conrods for signs of wear or fatigue, especially if you are pushing the engine hard. Ensure that the fasteners are properly torqued according to ARP specifications and that the engine is tuned correctly to avoid excessive stress on the rods.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo PRO-H Conrod?

The Carrillo PRO-H Conrod comes with 3/8 inch CARR bolts. These bolts are designed for high performance and should be tightened according to ARP's recommended torque specifications for optimal reliability.
