Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; Custom designed fasteners; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; CP-Carrillo moly based fastener lubrication included.

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What is the recommended machining for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod PSR5318?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod PSR5318 may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to variations in journal sizes. Always check the specific requirements for your Ducati engine model to achieve optimal clearances.

What are the benefits of using the Carrillo PRO-H conrod in my Ducati?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod is designed for high performance, offering a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to OEM rods. This results in reduced weight for better RPM response and potential horsepower gains, making it suitable for both street and racing applications.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo PRO-H conrod PSR5318?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod PSR5318 comes with 8mm CARR bolts, which are custom designed for strength and reliability. Ensure to follow the manufacturer's specifications for installation and torque settings.

Is there a specific installation procedure I should follow for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?

Yes, when installing the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, ensure that the big-end is properly aligned and torqued according to the specifications provided by Carrillo. It is crucial to check for any necessary machining and clearances before final assembly.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod PSR5318, and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-H conrod PSR5318 weighs 401 grams. A lighter conrod reduces reciprocating mass, which can improve engine response and allow for higher RPMs, enhancing overall performance in both street and race conditions.
