Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the key features of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod for Yamaha YZ450F 2020+?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is manufactured from USA-made oversized proprietary 8620 steel forgings, ensuring optimal grain flow and durability. It features a taper design, a big end bore of 42.012 mm, and a rod centre-to-centre length of 104.5 mm. This conrod is designed for high-performance applications, providing a superior strength-to-weight ratio.

Is any machining required for the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod upon installation?

While the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is designed for direct fitment, it is advisable to check the big-end and small-end clearances. Depending on the specific engine tolerances and any previous modifications, honing may be required to achieve the correct fit.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod for the Yamaha YZ450F?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod weighs approximately 270 grams. This lightweight design contributes to reduced reciprocating mass, which can enhance engine responsiveness and performance at high RPMs.

Can the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod be used in racing applications?

Yes, the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is engineered for extreme use in racing environments. Its construction and design provide the necessary strength and reliability to withstand the stresses of high-performance applications, making it suitable for competitive racing.

What is the expected lifespan of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod under high-performance conditions?

The lifespan of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod will depend on various factors including engine tuning, RPM levels, and overall maintenance. While it is designed for durability, regular inspections for signs of fatigue or wear are recommended, especially in high-stress racing conditions.
