Part Description

Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection;

Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure.  CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the benefits of using the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod for the Honda CRF250R?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is designed for enhanced strength and durability compared to OEM rods. Its lightweight construction reduces reciprocating mass, allowing for higher RPMs and improved horsepower output. The proprietary steel forging process ensures optimal grain flow and the removal of surface inclusions, making it suitable for extreme racing applications.

Is any machining required for the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod installation?

While the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is manufactured to precise specifications, it may require big-end or small-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to variations in journal and pin sizes. Always verify clearances and fitment with your engine builder.

What is the recommended installation procedure for the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod?

Follow standard installation practices for connecting rods, ensuring that the conrod is aligned correctly with the crankshaft and piston. It's crucial to check the big-end bore for proper clearance and to adhere to the manufacturer's specifications for torque or stretch when securing the conrod to the crankshaft.

What is the weight of the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod and how does it affect performance?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod weighs 196 grams. Its lightweight design contributes to reduced inertia, allowing the engine to rev more freely and efficiently. This can lead to improved throttle response and overall performance, particularly in high-revving applications.

What type of applications is the Carrillo PRO-A Conrod suitable for?

The Carrillo PRO-A Conrod is specifically designed for the Honda CRF250R 2018-2020 and is ideal for off-road and dirt bike racing applications. Its robust construction makes it suitable for both recreational and competitive use, especially in environments where high RPM and durability are critical.
