Part Description |
Manufactured from USA made oversized proprietary steel forgings to enable proper grain flow and guarantee removal of any surface inclusions, CP-Carrillo ensures strength and durability of each Carrillo rod. Consistent and reliable from the first point of precision manufacturing all the way to extreme uses in racing world, exclusive Carrillo H beam and Pro (S)A designs offer the highest strength-to-weight ratio; 100 traceability; multi-step final inspection; |
Fatigue and over-revving are the two major causes of connecting rod failure. CP Carrillo rods are not only stronger than OEM rods, but they are lighter weight, which means less weight for the engine to throw around at high RPM, and more horsepower output.

What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What are the key features of the Carrillo PRO-H conrod for the Yamaha R3?
The Carrillo PRO-H conrod for the Yamaha R3 is manufactured from USA-made oversized proprietary 4330M steel forgings, ensuring superior strength and durability. It features a straight design, a big end bore of 33.012 mm, and is equipped with 0.25 CARR bolts for reliable fastening.
What is the recommended installation process for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?
When installing the Carrillo PRO-H conrod, ensure that the big end and small end are properly honed to fit the crankshaft and piston pin respectively. Follow ARP's latest instructions for bolt torque or stretch specifications to ensure proper fastening.
What are the weight specifications for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?
The Carrillo PRO-H conrod weighs 183 grams, which contributes to a lighter rotating assembly. This reduction in weight can lead to improved engine responsiveness and performance, especially at high RPM.
Are there any specific machining requirements for the Carrillo PRO-H conrod?
Yes, the Carrillo PRO-H conrod may require machining for proper fitment, particularly in terms of big-end or small-end honing. It is essential to check clearances and ensure that they meet the specifications set by the engine builder.
What performance advantages does the Carrillo PRO-H conrod offer for the Yamaha R3?
The Carrillo PRO-H conrod provides a higher strength-to-weight ratio compared to OEM rods, reducing fatigue and improving reliability under high RPM conditions. This can lead to enhanced horsepower output and overall engine performance, especially in racing applications.
