What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What is the recommended machining for the Carrillo conrods SCR5166 for the BMW S65B40?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5166 may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to factory variations in journal sizes. Always verify clearances with your specific engine setup.

What are the specifications for the pin bore and big end bore of these conrods?

The SCR5166 conrods have a pin bore of 21mm and a big end bore of approximately 56mm (2.2047 inches). Ensure your pistons and crankshaft are compatible with these dimensions.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods SCR5166?

The total weight of the SCR5166 conrods is 522 grams, with a rotating weight of 372 grams and a reciprocating weight of 150 grams. This weight distribution is designed to enhance performance and reliability.

Are there specific fasteners included with the SCR5166 conrods?

Yes, the SCR5166 conrods come with custom-designed ARP 3/8 WMC bolts, which are known for their strength and reliability in high-performance applications.

What is the expected lead time for the SCR5166 conrods if not in stock?

The SCR5166 conrods are special order items, and if not in stock at CP Carrillo, you should expect a lead time of up to 2 weeks for delivery. You will be notified of the ETA if there are any delays.
