What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo conrods SCR7002?

The Carrillo conrods SCR7002 for the Porsche 997 3.6L Turbo may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to manufacturing tolerances. It's crucial to check the big-end bore dimensions against your crankshaft journals for optimal clearance.

What is the recommended application for the SCR7002 conrods?

The SCR7002 conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the Porsche 997 3.6L Turbo engine, particularly in racing or modified setups where increased strength and durability are required. They are suitable for builds that may see elevated boost levels and RPM.

What is the weight of the SCR7002 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR7002 conrod is approximately 537 grams, with a rotating weight of 373 grams and a reciprocating weight of 164 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of the engine.

How do the SCR7002 conrods compare to OEM rods in terms of strength?

The SCR7002 conrods are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings, providing a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to OEM rods. Their H beam design and multi-step inspection process ensure enhanced reliability under extreme conditions.

What is the lead time for the SCR7002 conrods if they are not in stock?

The SCR7002 conrods are special order items. If they are not in stock at CP Carrillo, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. You will be informed of the estimated time of arrival if there are any delays.
