What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR5461 conrods?

The SCR5461 conrods may require honing of the big-end and small-end to ensure proper fitment due to manufacturing tolerances. Always verify clearances with your specific engine setup.

What is the recommended application for the SCR5461 conrods?

These conrods are designed for high-performance applications in the Porsche 3.0L engine, particularly suitable for racing and high boost environments. Ensure your engine is properly built and tuned to maximise their potential.

How do I ensure the correct fitment of the SCR5461 conrods in my Porsche engine?

Fitment of the SCR5461 conrods requires attention to detail in machining and assembly. Verify that your engine's bore and pin sizes are within the specified tolerances, and always consult your engine builder for specific recommendations.

What is the weight of the SCR5461 conrods and how does it affect performance?

The SCR5461 conrods have a total weight of 558 grams. Lighter conrods can improve engine response and reduce rotating mass, but ensure that your engine is balanced with the entire rotating assembly for optimal performance.

Can I use the SCR5461 conrods in a different engine model?

The SCR5461 conrods are specifically designed for the Porsche 3.0L engine. Using them in a different engine model may require significant modifications and is not recommended without thorough evaluation of compatibility.
