What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR5457 conrods?

The SCR5457 conrods may require honing of the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct journal and pin sizes, as factory tolerances can vary. Ensure that these dimensions are checked and adjusted by the engine builder for optimal fitment.

What is the recommended application for the SCR5457 conrods?

The SCR5457 conrods are designed for high-performance applications in Porsche 2.0L and 2.2L engines. They are suitable for both street and racing use, providing a strong and lightweight option for builds aiming for increased power and reliability.

What is the weight of the SCR5457 conrods and how does it affect performance?

The total weight of each SCR5457 conrod is approximately 573 grams. The lightweight design contributes to reduced reciprocating mass, which can enhance engine response and overall performance, especially at higher RPMs.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR5457 conrods?

When installing the SCR5457 conrods, ensure that the fasteners are properly lubricated with the included moly-based lubricant and follow the recommended torque or stretch specifications for the bolts. Additionally, verify that the conrod clearance and alignment are within the manufacturer's specifications.

What is the significance of the Pro-H design in the SCR5457 conrods?

The Pro-H design of the SCR5457 conrods offers an optimal strength-to-weight ratio, making them ideal for high-stress applications. This design enhances durability and performance, particularly in racing environments where reliability under extreme conditions is critical.
