What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What is the recommended application for the Carrillo conrods SCR5305?
The Carrillo conrods SCR5305 are designed for high-performance applications in Nissan RB25 and RB26 engines. They are suitable for both street and racing use, providing strength and reliability under high power and RPM conditions.
What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR5305 conrods?
While the SCR5305 conrods are manufactured to high tolerances, it is recommended to check the big-end and small-end for proper fitment. Depending on the specific engine build, honing may be required to ensure correct clearances with the crankshaft and pistons.
What is the weight of the SCR5305 conrods?
The total weight of the SCR5305 conrods is approximately 474 grams, with a rotating weight of 358 grams and a reciprocating weight of 116 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of the engine.
Are the SCR5305 conrods suitable for high boost applications?
Yes, the SCR5305 conrods are built from proprietary steel forgings, making them suitable for high boost applications. However, the reliability at high boost levels will depend on proper tuning, fuel quality, and overall engine assembly.
What is the centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR5305 conrods?
The centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR5305 conrods is 4.783 inches (121.5 mm). This measurement is critical for ensuring proper fitment in the RB25/RB26 engine family.
