What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What is the recommended machining for the Carrillo conrods SCR5148?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5148 may require honing of the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct journal and pin sizes, depending on the specific engine tolerances. Always verify with your engine builder for precise machining requirements.

What is the weight of the SCR5148 conrods?

The total weight of the SCR5148 conrods is 493 grams, with a rotating weight of 343 grams and a reciprocating weight of 150 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.

Are the SCR5148 conrods suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, the SCR5148 conrods are designed for high-performance applications, including racing. They are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings to ensure strength and durability, making them suitable for extreme use cases.

What is the centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR5148 conrods?

The centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR5148 conrods is 5.315 inches (135 mm). This measurement is critical for ensuring proper fitment in the M52B32, M3 M50, M20B25, and M54B30 engines.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR5148 conrods?

The SCR5148 conrods come with custom-designed WMC 3/8 bolts, which are known for their strength and reliability in high-performance applications. Ensure to follow the proper tightening procedures for optimal performance.
