What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the key specifications of the Carrillo conrods for the BMW M52 TU 24v / M50B25?

The Carrillo conrods for the BMW M52 TU 24v / M50B25 have a centre-to-centre length of 5.512 inches (140 mm), a big end bore of 1.8898 inches (48.001 mm), and a pin bore of 22 mm. They feature a 3/8 inch bolt size and are designed with a Pro-H style for enhanced strength.

Are there any specific machining requirements for these conrods?

Yes, when installing the Carrillo conrods, you may need to hone the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct clearances due to manufacturing tolerances. Always verify the fitment with your specific engine setup.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods for the M52 TU / M50B25?

The total weight of each Carrillo conrod is approximately 505 grams, with a rotating weight of 353 grams and a reciprocating weight of 152 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.

What type of fasteners are included with these conrods?

The Carrillo conrods come with custom-designed CARR fasteners, specifically ARP2000 bolts. These bolts are known for their strength and reliability, making them suitable for high-performance applications.

What is the expected delivery time for these conrods?

These conrods are special order items, and if not in stock at CP Carrillo, you should allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. You will be notified of the estimated time of arrival if there are any delays.
