What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What is the recommended machining for the Carrillo conrods SCR5153 for the BMW M52/M54?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5153 may require big-end honing to ensure proper fitment due to variations in journal sizes. Always check the fitment with your crankshaft and perform any necessary machining to achieve the correct clearances.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods SCR5153?

The total weight of each Carrillo conrod SCR5153 is approximately 516 grams, with a rotating weight of 358 grams and a reciprocating weight of 158 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the Carrillo conrods SCR5153?

When installing the SCR5153 conrods, ensure that the big end and small end are properly aligned and that the fasteners are torqued or stretched according to ARP specifications. It's crucial to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for installation to maintain reliability.

What is the centre-to-centre measurement of the Carrillo conrods SCR5153?

The centre-to-centre measurement of the Carrillo conrods SCR5153 is 5.709 inches (145 mm). This dimension is critical for ensuring compatibility with the M52/M54 engine block.

What type of fasteners are included with the Carrillo conrods SCR5153?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5153 come with custom-designed 3/8 inch CARR fasteners, which are known for their strength and reliability. Always refer to ARP's latest instructions for proper installation and torque specifications.
