What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specifications of the Carrillo conrods for the Triumph TR4/TR3?

The Carrillo conrods for the Triumph TR4/TR3 have a centre-to-centre length of 6.25 inches, a big end bore of 2.233 inches, and a pin bore of 0.875 inches. They feature a big end width of 1.175 inches and are designed for 3/8 inch WMC bolts.

What machining considerations should I be aware of when installing these conrods?

When installing the Carrillo conrods, it's essential to check the big-end and small-end for proper fitment. You may need to hone the big-end to achieve the correct clearance for your crankshaft journals. Always verify clearances based on your specific engine build.

Are these conrods suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, these Carrillo conrods are designed for high-performance applications, including racing. They are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings, ensuring strength and durability. However, the reliability of performance will depend on proper machining, tuning, and the overall engine setup.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods for the TR4/TR3?

The total weight of each Carrillo conrod for the TR4/TR3 is approximately 659 grams, with a rotating weight of 475 grams and a reciprocating weight of 184 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance characteristics of your engine.

How long does it take to receive these conrods if they are not in stock?

These conrods are special order items. If they are not in stock at CP Carrillo, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. You will be notified of the estimated time of arrival.
