What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the SCR8482 conrods?

The SCR8482 conrods may require honing of the big-end or small-end to achieve the correct fitment due to factory variations in journal and pin sizes. Always verify clearances with your specific engine setup.

What is the weight of the SCR8482 conrods?

The total weight of each SCR8482 conrod is 538 grams, with a rotating weight of 378 grams and a reciprocating weight of 160 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your FA20 engine.

Can I use these conrods in a high-performance application?

Yes, the SCR8482 conrods are designed for high-performance applications, including racing. Their construction from proprietary steel forgings ensures strength and durability under extreme conditions, but reliability will depend on proper machining, clearances, and tuning.

What is the centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR8482 conrods?

The centre-to-centre measurement of the SCR8482 conrods is 5.09 inches (129.29 mm). This dimension is critical for ensuring proper fitment in the FA20 engine.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR8482 conrods?

When installing the SCR8482 conrods, ensure that the main caps and girdles are properly aligned and consider line boring if necessary. Additionally, follow the recommended torque specifications for the ARP2000 bolts to ensure secure fastening.
