What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the recommended machining requirements for the SCR7548 conrods?

The SCR7548 conrods may require honing of the big-end and small-end bores to ensure proper fitment due to manufacturing tolerances. It's essential to measure the journal and pin sizes accurately before installation.

What is the weight of the SCR7548 conrods and how does it affect performance?

The SCR7548 conrods have a total weight of 487 grams, with a rotating weight of 346 grams and a reciprocating weight of 131 grams. This lightweight design contributes to reduced inertia, allowing for quicker engine response and improved performance, especially in high-rev applications.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR7548 conrods in an FA20 engine?

When installing the SCR7548 conrods in an FA20 engine, ensure that the main caps and girdles are line-bored after installation for optimal alignment. Additionally, verify that the RA surface finish of the head gasket surfaces meets specifications to prevent sealing issues.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR7548 conrods?

The SCR7548 conrods come standard with Carrillo 3/8 bolts, which are designed for high strength and reliability. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's torque specifications and guidelines for installation.

Can the SCR7548 conrods be used in both Subaru and Toyota applications?

Yes, the SCR7548 conrods are compatible with both Subaru FA20 and Toyota 4U-GSE engines. However, always confirm fitment and any specific requirements based on your engine's configuration before installation.
