What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific machining requirements for the Carrillo conrods SCR5381 for the Honda H22?

The Carrillo conrods SCR5381 may require big-end honing to achieve the correct fitment due to variations in journal sizes. Ensure that the big end bore is checked and honed if necessary to maintain proper clearances for optimal performance.

What is the weight of the Carrillo conrods SCR5381?

The total weight of each Carrillo conrod SCR5381 is approximately 484 grams, with the rotating weight being around 359 grams and the reciprocating weight at 125 grams. This weight distribution is designed to enhance performance while maintaining durability.

Are the Carrillo SCR5381 conrods suitable for high-performance applications?

Yes, the Carrillo SCR5381 conrods are designed for high-performance applications, including racing. They are manufactured from proprietary steel forgings, ensuring a high strength-to-weight ratio and reliability under extreme conditions. Proper installation and tuning are essential for maximising their potential.

What is the recommended installation process for the Carrillo SCR5381 conrods?

When installing the Carrillo SCR5381 conrods, ensure that the big-end bolts are torqued to the appropriate specifications using ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for bolt stretch if using L19 bolts, and always verify that the conrods are properly aligned and clearanced within the engine.

How do the Carrillo SCR5381 conrods compare to OEM conrods in terms of performance?

The Carrillo SCR5381 conrods offer significant performance advantages over OEM conrods, including increased strength and reduced weight. This results in improved engine response and reliability, especially in high RPM and boosted applications. However, the overall performance gain will depend on the entire engine build and tuning.
