What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?

These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.

Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?

No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.

Do the big end and small end need machining?

They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.

What are the specific applications for the Carrillo Conrods SCR4901?

The Carrillo Conrods SCR4901 are designed for use in Honda B18A, B18B, and B20B engines. They are suitable for both street and performance applications, particularly in setups that require enhanced strength and durability.

What is the recommended machining process for the SCR4901 conrods?

The SCR4901 conrods may require honing of the big-end or small-end to ensure proper fitment with the crankshaft and piston pins. It's essential to check clearances and ensure that the conrods fit correctly within the engine's specifications.

What is the weight of the SCR4901 conrods and how does it affect performance?

The total weight of the SCR4901 conrods is 510 grams, with a rotating weight of 376 grams and a reciprocating weight of 134 grams. A lighter conrod can improve engine response and RPM potential, but ensure that the overall balance of the rotating assembly is maintained.

Are there any specific installation considerations for the SCR4901 conrods?

When installing the SCR4901 conrods, ensure that the big-end bolts are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications using ARP Ultra-Torque lubricant. Additionally, verify that the conrods are properly aligned and that the crankshaft is balanced with the full rotating assembly.

What type of fasteners are included with the SCR4901 conrods?

The SCR4901 conrods come with 3/8-inch ARP2000 bolts as standard. These bolts provide excellent strength and reliability for high-performance applications, but always follow ARP's latest instructions for installation and torque specifications.
