What bolts do these conrods use and how should I tighten them?
These rods use ARP conrod bolts, usually ARP2000 as standard with L19 or CA625+ available on some models. ARP2000 bolts are generally torqued to around 55 ft-lb for 3/8 inch and around 75 ft-lb for 7/16 inch when using ARP Ultra-Torque lube. L19 bolts must be tightened by stretch, not torque. Always refer to the latest ARP instructions for exact specifications.
Do these conrods have a horsepower rating or warranty?
No. Like other performance rods, they do not carry a horsepower or performance warranty. Spool warrants workmanship before installation, but once fitted, power handling depends entirely on machining, clearances, tuning, fuel, boost level and rpm.
Do the big end and small end need machining?
They often do. Crank journals and pin bores vary between engines, so your builder should measure the big end oil clearance and small end pin clearance and hone as required before assembly.
What is the recommended application for the Carrillo Conrods SCR4852?
The Carrillo Conrods SCR4852 are designed for the Ford Duratec 2.0 and Mazda 2.3L MZR engines. They are suitable for performance applications, including racing, where strength and reliability are critical.
What are the dimensions of the SCR4852 conrods?
The SCR4852 conrods have a centre-to-centre length of 6.094 inches (154.79 mm), a big end bore of 2.088 inches (53.035 mm), and a pin width of 0.71 inches (18.03 mm). Ensure these dimensions match your engine specifications before installation.
Do the SCR4852 conrods require specific machining before installation?
While the SCR4852 conrods are manufactured to high tolerances, it is advisable to check the big-end and small-end for proper fitment. Depending on your engine's condition and specifications, honing may be necessary to achieve the correct clearances.
What is the weight of the SCR4852 conrods?
The total weight of each SCR4852 conrod is approximately 494 grams, with a rotating weight of 374 grams and a reciprocating weight of 120 grams. This weight contributes to the overall performance and balance of your engine.
What type of fasteners are included with the SCR4852 conrods?
The SCR4852 conrods come with custom-designed 3/8 inch ARP bolts. These bolts are engineered for high strength and reliability, making them suitable for performance applications. Always follow ARP's latest instructions for installation.
